Kaduna Police Clarify Incident at Mando Motor Park: CNG Vehicle Explosion, Not Bomb

The Kaduna State Police Command has issued a statement regarding an incident at Silver Luxury Travel, a bus company at Mando Motor Park, Kaduna.

According to DSP Mansir Hassan Anipr, Police Public Relations Officer, a loud sound was reported at around 3:00 AM on April 5, 2026, prompting an immediate response from detectives.

“In a statement, DSP Anipr said, “A loud sound was reported at Silver Luxury Travel, a luxurious bus traveling company located at Mando Motor Park, Kaduna, where vehicles use gas instead of diesel or petrol,” adding that preliminary findings revealed the incident involved an LNG-propelled luxury bus that exploded due to overfilling of its gas tank.

“The vehicle has been moved to a safe location, and the area is secure. There are no reports of casualties or property damage,” Anipr said.

Police Commissioner, CP Muhammad Rabiu, has ordered a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and prevent future occurrences. The bomb disposal unit has been dispatched to the scene.

“The commissioner of police, Kaduna state command, CP Muhammad Rabiu Psc, mni, has since ordered a full investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident to avoid future occurrence,” Anipr said.

The police urge the public to verify information before sharing, especially on security matters, to avoid spreading panic.
