The FCT Command Safe Schools Programme has donated Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras to five schools across the Federal Capital Territory to strengthen security and enhance the protection of students and teachers.
Chief Rufus Ebegba, Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), FCT Command, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.

Ebegba said a monitoring team would periodically visit the beneficiary schools to assess the activities and effectiveness of Safe Schools Clubs established under the programme.
He urged principals to provide necessary support for the clubs to ensure effective implementation and sustainability of the initiative.
The Coordinator of the programme, Mr Ndagi Mohammed, told NAN that the initiative is aimed at promoting safer learning environments and enhancing security measures in selected schools.
The beneficiary schools are Government Science and Technical College, Kwali; Government Secondary School, Karshi; and Junior Secondary Schools in Abaji, Kuje and Kubwa.
Mohammed directed principals of the beneficiary schools to establish functional Safe Schools Clubs to promote security awareness, discipline, vigilance and students’ participation in maintaining safe learning environments.
He added that proper maintenance of the donated CCTV equipment and effective operation of the clubs would strengthen security awareness and promote a lasting culture of safety in schools.
