The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has honoured the Executive Chairman of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Hamisu Mohammed Anani, for his contributions to security and peacebuilding.
The honour coincided with the passing-out parade of operatives of the Wase Rock Security Network Limited after completing professional training at the NSCDC Command and Staff College, Jos.
In a statement issued by Dr. Anani, who is also the ALGON Chairman, Plateau State and National Publicity Secretary of ALGON, he said the initiative is aimed at strengthening community-based security, promoting peaceful coexistence, and protecting lives and property in Wase LGA.
He noted that collaboration between local government authorities, security agencies and community stakeholders remains vital to addressing emerging security challenges.
According to him, the initiative will also enhance grassroots security through the training and engagement of youths in peace maintenance and support for conventional security operations within their communities.
