The Chief Imam of Ansarudeen Jumu’ah Mosque, Wuse 2, Abuja, Prof. Musa Olaofe, has urged Nigerian politicians to honour their campaign promises, describing promise-keeping as a moral and religious obligation.
Prof. Olaofe made the call while delivering the Jumu’ah sermon in Abuja, where he emphasised the need for sincerity, integrity and accountability in both personal relationships and public service.
The cleric observed that failure to fulfil promises could erode public trust, breed disappointment and weaken confidence in leadership.

He therefore challenged politicians to translate their campaign promises into concrete actions that would improve the living conditions of the electorate.
Prof. Olaofe also urged Nigerians to uphold honesty and responsibility in their daily dealings, noting that keeping promises was essential to building a peaceful, trustworthy and responsible society.
The Chief Imam called on leaders at all levels to lead by example and be guided by integrity, justice and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people.
He prayed for peace, unity and socio-economic development in the country.
