Institute designates FCT, Rivers, Abia, Lagos and Bauchi Chairmen as zonal coordinators, announces awards for best-performing chapters as mobilisation intensifies

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has shifted the date for its nationwide State-Level Road Show in support of the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) Abuja 2026.
The simultaneous road shows across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), earlier slated for Saturday, September 26, 2026, will now hold on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
This was contained in a circular issued by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue, fnipr, from the National Secretariat in Abuja.
According to the circular, the new date was approved following a consultative meeting between the Presidency and the leadership of NIPR Chapters on the proposed road show.
To ensure effective coordination and adequate mobilisation across the various zones, the Institute has designated the Chapter Chairmen of FCT, Rivers, Abia, Lagos and Bauchi States to coordinate and ensure adequate preparations for the road show within their respective zones.
The circular further disclosed that the National Planning Committee for WPRF Abuja 2026 has been directed to curate appropriate award prizes for the top three best-performing Chapter outings, as well as recognise an Emerging Chapter that demonstrates outstanding performance, creativity and commitment to the exercise.
It clarified that all other arrangements, expectations and guidelines contained in the earlier memorandum dated September 16, 2026, remain valid and should continue to guide the planning and execution of the exercise.
In addition to submitting final post-event reports, Chapter Chairmen are expected to share selected expressive live videos and pictures in real-time on the Chapter Support WhatsApp Group on the day of the event.
The Institute enjoined all Chapters to intensify mobilisation efforts to ensure that the road show is impactful, visible and reflective of the national importance of Nigeria hosting the global forum.
Nigeria is set to host the World Public Relations Forum, WPRF Abuja 2026, a prestigious global gathering of public relations professionals, thought leaders and policymakers under the auspices of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. The forum is expected to attract delegates from over 80 countries.
The nationwide road show is a key component of the Institute’s strategic sensitization drive to create awareness, galvanize stakeholder participation and showcase Nigeria’s preparedness to host the world.
