NITDA Unveils Ambitious Digital Transformation Plan at Tech Revolution Africa 2026

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to driving Nigeria’s digital transformation, with a focus on adaptive policies, infrastructure development, and talent empowerment.

The agency’s Director of Stakeholder Management and Partnerships, Dr. Aristotle Onumo, revealed NITDA’s strategic roadmap at the Tech Revolution Africa 2026 event in Lagos, highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration in achieving a sustainable digital ecosystem.

NITDA aims to achieve 50 million digitally literate Nigerians by 2027, stimulating innovation and inclusion. The agency plans to expand modern digital infrastructure to enhance nationwide connectivity and invest in talent development to harness Nigeria’s youthful population.

Dr. Onumo also highlighted NITDA’s continued support for startups, digital creators, and tech entrepreneurs.

The agency’s vision aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, prioritizing industrialization, digitization, and innovation. NITDA has established partnerships with Google and other organizations to strengthen Nigeria’s digital financial ecosystem and promote e-governance.

NITDA’s goal of achieving 50 million digitally literate Nigerians by 2027 is expected to deepen inclusion, stimulate innovation, and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global digital economy.
