Engr. The delegation was received by Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, General Manager, Corporate Communications, NCDMB, who highlighted the impressive growth of Nigerian Content to 61% and NCDMB’s role in enabling new oil and gas projects.

The Nigerian International Energy Summit (NIES) 2026, themed “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future,” brought together major stakeholders from the energy sector to discuss local content development, regional energy integration, and policy diplomacy.

The summit featured high-level discussions on building African industrial powerhouses and strategic projects like the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline.

In a key session during a panel discussion, Barr. Esueme Dan Kikile, General Manager, Capacity Building Division, explored the theme “Pipelines, Power & Peace: Unifying Africa’s Energy Diplomacy,” spotlighting how strategic cross-border oil and gas infrastructure can shape Africa’s future.

The discussion highlighted the potential for a One Africa Gas Corridor Initiative, aiming to connect Africa’s gas infrastructure, align policies, and mobilise joint investments.

“NCDMB’s efforts have been instrumental in driving local content growth, and we are committed to partnering with them to create value in the industry,” Engr. Ojulari said. Dr. Ezeobi shared the successes of the Nigerian Content Intervention Fund and the Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training, which aims to train 10,000 young Nigerians for opportunities in mega projects.

Dr. Ezeobi also delivered sponsors’ remarks at the NIES 2026 Gala Dinner & Energy Excellence Awards Night, sponsored by NCDMB. The summit provided a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders, including ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, and Schlumberger Limited. NCDMB, a gold sponsor of NIES 2026, showcased its operations at Stand B24, inviting participants to explore partnership opportunities and learn more about its initiatives.
