The appointments span power, fiscal, population and education agencies and take effect immediately as part of efforts to strengthen governance and service delivery.

PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into the governing boards and leadership of 10 federal government agencies and commissions, naming former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency and redeploying Tosin Johnson Adeyanju as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
The appointments, announced on Monday in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, take immediate effect across key institutions in power, fiscal, population, housing, education and energy sectors.
Adeyanju Moves to Sensitive Fiscal Role
In one of the most prominent changes, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who previously served as Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), was redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The RMAFC oversees revenue accruals to government and advises on the formula for sharing allocations among the three tiers of government, making it one of the most strategic fiscal bodies in the country.
The redeployment is expected to bolster oversight and strengthen fiscal discipline within the commission.
Fayose to Head Rural Electrification Agency
Ayo Fayose will chair the board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). He will serve alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive directors.
The REA board also comprises the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three serving executive directors.
Other Key Appointments
President Tinubu also reconstituted the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, appointing Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman. Former member of the House of Representatives, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was named Secretary.
Commissioners appointed to the wages body include Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna), Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
In the energy sector, Dr Akinola Odeyemi was named Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), while Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
Dr Abuh Mohammed was appointed Director-General of the National Population Commission.
Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist and legal scholar, was named Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Mathias Byuan.
Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, while Engineer Julius Oloro was named Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State.
The President also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission with Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman, alongside six other members.
According to the Presidency, the appointments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across critical federal institutions.
