Osimhen Ahead Of Ronaldo And Messi, With Mbappe Ending 2025 As Top Goalscorer

With 2025 coming to an end, the list of the top goalscorers as released by B/R Football on X (former Twitter) handle ranked Super Eagles star striker Victor Osimhen fifth tops goalscorers of 2025 to top two top recipients of the Ballon d’Or winners in history of footblall till date, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, in the 2025 top goalscorer list.

According to the list, Kylian Mbappe was seen topping with the most goals in the year (66), followed by Harry Kane (60), Erling Haaland (57), Victor Hernadez (48) and Victor Osimhen (46).

The Nigerian international added to his goal tally against Tunisia at the ongoing 2025/2026 Africa Cup of Nations competition at Morroco, bringing his tally to (47) before the curtain drawn on 2025.

The Galatasaray star has continued to shine for the Lions since completing his move during the summer transfer window to Turkey.

He has been magnificent in front of goal this year, getting his name on the scoresheet constantly for club and country to earn that feat.

Osimhen, who has been a constant goal scorer this year, was ranked fifth on the list with 46 goals and tied with Messi, who also has 46 goals.

The forward has scored more goals than Ronaldo this year, with the Portuguese star ranked in ninth position with 41 goals, he added to his tally during the 2-2 draw against Al-Etiffaq vs Al-Nassr FC bringing his tally to (42).

Galatasaray is currently enjoying the talent of the Nigerian, who has scored 12 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions this season.

He is currently making a significant impact at the 2025 AFCON tournament, representing the Nigerian national team. He is now 5 goals shy of Rashidi Yekini’s record as Nigeria’s all-time leading goalscorer.

With the Super Eagles through to the round of 16, he will be hoping to help the team team the trophy at the end of the campaign

Lionel Messi has won a record eight Ballon d’Or awards, while Cristiano Ronaldo has won five, making them the top two recipients of the prestigious award in football history, as of late 2025. Messi’s wins span from 2009 to 2023, with Ronaldo’s occurring in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017.
