The Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) has announced that its 9th edition will take place from 2 – 5 February 2026 at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja with the  Theme “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future,” the summit will bring together African heads of state, global policymakers, industry leaders and investors to shape the continent’s energy trajectory.

Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) will serve as Platinum Sponsor, underscoring its leadership in the nation’s “Decade of Gas” agenda. Its involvement will see NLNG host high‑level panel discussions on gas‑to‑power solutions that can catalyse industrial growth and expand energy access, on technology and local‑content initiatives that build a resilient gas value chain, and on financing models that leverage public‑private partnerships for sustainable LNG development.

The summit’s programme will feature a presidential panel with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who will act as chief host, alongside President Adama Barrow of The Gambia and President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, reinforcing NIES’s reputation as Africa’s premier platform for energy dialogue, policy coordination and investment mobilisation.

Joining NLNG as key sponsors are Shell Nigeria and TotalEnergies EP Nigeria as Gold Sponsors, ExxonMobil Nigeria and Chevron Nigeria Limited as Silver Sponsors, with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited serving as strategic partner and the African Development Bank (AfDB) as development‑finance partner. Together, these organisations will drive discussions on policy, technology, supply‑chain resilience and climate‑smart energy solutions.

“NLNG’s platinum sponsorship is more than a badge; it is a commitment to champion energy as a driver of stability and inclusive growth,” said Dr James Shindi, Chief Executive of Brevity Anderson and Project Director of NIES. “Their leadership will help ensure the summit delivers investable, practical outcomes for Nigeria and the wider African energy community.”
