President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the National Economic Council (NEC) for sustaining a vital platform for strategic dialogue, policy coordination, and collective action across national and subnational governments.
Opening the National Economic Council Conference, President Tinubu noted that the conference theme – “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development” – and the 2026–2030 National Development Plan reflect Nigeria’s resolve to move from recovery to transformation and toward growth that is inclusive, resilient, and sustainable.
The NEC, under the leadership of Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, has been praised for providing a forum for policymakers to discuss critical issues affecting the nation’s economy and development.
The conference is expected to bring together stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for achieving Nigeria’s development goals and promoting sustainable growth.
The National Economic Council (NEC) is a constitutional body established to facilitate cooperation and coordination between the federal government and state governments on economic matters. The council is chaired by the Vice President and comprises state governors, ministers, and other key stakeholders.
The NEC conference is an annual event that brings together policymakers, economists, and development experts to discuss critical issues affecting Nigeria’s economy and development.
