Kogi Schools Reopen Monday After Security-Driven Closure

The Kogi State Government has directed all primary and secondary schools to reopen on Monday, February 23, 2026, following a two-week closure due to security concerns.

The Director of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Matthew Eri Salami announced the resumption in a statement made available no the press on Friday

Schools will resume on Monday, reversing the earlier closure on February 4, which was described as a “purely preventive decision” based on credible intelligence, according to Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.
