Afrobeats star Asake will release his fourth studio album, M$NEY, on 1 May, marking a pivotal turn in his career as his first full-length project under his independent imprint.
The singer, born Ahmed Ololade, confirmed the date on his Instagram page, @mrmoney, alongside a teaser video of a stone carver shaping what appears to be the album’s cover art.
M$NEY will feature 13 tracks, including previously released singles Why Love, Badman Gangster featuring Tiakola, and his latest hit Worship with DJ Snake. The album is expected to carry Asake’s trademark blend of Fuji-inflected vocals, Amapiano rhythms and contemporary Afrobeats, while introducing new sonic elements.
The release signals a new phase for the artist following three major studio albums: Mr. Money With The Vibe in 2022, Work of Art in 2023, and Lungu Boy in 2024. His track Amapiano earned a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards, despite being performed largely in Yoruba.
Fans and industry watchers say M$NEY could further cement Asake’s standing as one of Africa’s leading music exports.
