FCT CP Orders Clampdown on Vehicles Without Tinted Glass Permits, Concealed Plate Numbers

By Henry Ihimekpen

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Commissioner, CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, has ordered the arrest and prosecution of motorists without tinted glass permits and concealed plate numbers in the territory.

CP Sanusi, who handed down the warning while addressing newsmen over the weekend, warned motorists and vehicle owners against the use of vehicles without valid licence plates and tinted glasses without permits.

He also warned vehicle owners with concealed, defaced or deliberately faded plate numbers, particularly persons driving SUVs, except top government officials.

The CP said the enforcement has become necessary to curb criminal activities where vehicles with illegal tinted glasses and obscured registration numbers are used to perpetrate crime in the FCT.

He urged vehicle owners to regularize their documents and obtain the necessary permits for tinted glasses from approved authorities, warning that any vehicle found violating the directive would be impounded and the owner prosecuted.
