Faith-based group distributes wrappers, footwear, and bags to over 100 vulnerable residents in Abuja, as traditional ruler urges Nigerians to embrace peace and support for the less privileged during Eid-el-Kabir.
A faith-based organisation, Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society, has distributed clothes, shoes, bags, and other items to vulnerable residents of Garki Community in the Federal Capital Territory as part of activities marking the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Women Leader of the Society, Hajiya Haulat Fuad, stated this during the distribution exercise held at the palace of the Chief of Garki in Abuja.
Hajiya Haulat said the initiative was aimed at sharing with the less privileged and promoting the spirit of love, kindness, and generosity which Eid-el-Kabir represents.
According to her, the period is one of giving, sharing, and making others happy, in line with the teachings of Islam and the values demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to Allah.

Hajiya Haulat disclosed that more than 100 wrappers, alongside shoes, bags, and other valuables, were distributed to beneficiaries during the exercise.
Receiving the group, the Paramount Traditional Ruler and Chief of Garki Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Dr. Usman Nga Kupi, commended the Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society for supporting vulnerable members of the community through the distribution of Sallah clothes and shoes.
The monarch expressed gratitude to the foundation for its continuous humanitarian interventions, describing the gesture as timely and impactful in improving the welfare of less privileged families.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the leadership of the society and called on other non-governmental organisations and philanthropists to emulate the gesture by extending support to Nigerians in need.
The traditional ruler also urged Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, tolerance, and mutual support irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political differences, stressing that national development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony.
According to him, citizens should offer prayers and constructive support to leaders at all levels while leaders, on their part, should ensure justice, fairness, and inclusiveness in governance.
HRH Dr. Nga Kupi further appealed to individuals involved in criminal activities, including banditry and armed robbery, to renounce violence and embrace peaceful and productive ventures for the progress of the nation.
The royal father noted that building a better future for younger generations remains a collective responsibility, urging Nigerians to forgive one another and work together towards a more peaceful and prosperous society.
Speaking during the event, the Director of Empowerment of the Society, Hajia Habiba Ahmed, said the gesture was in line with the organisation’s longstanding commitment to supporting the less privileged and promoting the values of compassion and sharing.

According to her, while food distribution remains a key aspect of the programme, the Society decided to provide clothing and shoes to residents of the community to complement previous interventions.
She said the initiative reflects the teachings of Islam, which encourage believers to care for one another and support those in need.
The Director of Empowerment urged wealthy individuals and well-meaning members of society to imbibe the culture of giving, stressing that no one should remain comfortable while neighbours go hungry.
Hajia Habiba noted that charity begins at home and emphasized the importance of treating others with kindness and dignity, adding that sharing resources with the less privileged contributes to building a more caring and inclusive society.
She reaffirmed the commitment of Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society to sustain its humanitarian programmes and reach out to more communities across the country.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society for the gesture, describing it as timely support ahead of the Sallah celebration.
The Sallah outreach programme by the Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society forms part of efforts aimed at supporting vulnerable communities and promoting the spirit of giving during the festive season.
