CAC Lauded for Driving Economic Growth in Nigeria

By Danjuma Amodu | February 4, 2026

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has been praised for its significant contribution to Nigeria’s economic growth over the past 35 years. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, commended the CAC for its efforts during a meeting with the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, in Abuja.

The Minister highlighted the impact of the CAC’s reforms, noting that registering a company is no longer a daunting task, thanks to the commission’s online registration process, which aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda. “It is heartwarming that Nigerians can now register companies online in the comfort of their homes,” he said.

The Minister also acknowledged the CAC’s role in Nigeria’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list in the last quarter of 2025, saying the country is no longer a concern for economic matters such as terrorism financing and money laundering.

Mohammed Idris congratulated the CAC on its achievements, particularly in the last three years, crediting the use of technology for its success. Earlier, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, outlined the commission’s reform initiatives, including the use of Artificial Intelligence to enable business name registration within minutes.

The CAC plans to celebrate its 35th anniversary starting February 6, 2026, and has launched a new website with an AI lawyer assistant to further improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

Here’s a continuation of the news story:

The Registrar-General/CEO of CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, stated that the commission’s focus on technology-driven reforms aims to make Nigeria a more attractive destination for investment and business. He emphasized that the new website and AI lawyer assistant will provide users with a seamless experience, enabling them to access information and complete transactions efficiently.

The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, expressed confidence that the CAC’s efforts will continue to drive economic growth and development in Nigeria. He encouraged the commission to maintain its momentum and explore further innovations to support the country’s business environment.

The meeting between the Minister and the CAC Registrar-General highlights the government’s commitment to promoting a business-friendly climate in Nigeria and acknowledges the commission’s crucial role in achieving this goal.
