Engineering Automation Technology Limited (EATL) has officially commissioned its multifaceted flow metering facility in Eket, Akwa Ibom State. The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders in the oil and gas industry, including representatives of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), led by Acting Director, Monitoring & Evaluation, Mr. Silas Ajimijaye.
The event featured goodwill messages from NUPRC, NCDMB, Renaissance, and NUIMS. Guests were also treated to a presentation on the facility’s engineering concept and operational capabilities, followed by a successful live test run.
The commissioning marks a significant milestone for EATL, showcasing its commitment to investing in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. The facility is expected to enhance the company’s capabilities in flow metering and support the growth of the industry.
The facility can calibrate various types of flow meters, including turbine, ultrasonic, Coriolis, electromagnetic, and positive displacement meters, critical in determining crude oil volumes in pipelines and export terminals.
Features of the facility include zero-touch automation, tamper-proof audit trails, and high-precision gravimetric standards, designed to eliminate human error and minimize downtime. It’s expected to create skilled jobs, develop technical hubs, and deepen domestic technical expertise in petroleum measurement technology.
This development is seen as a significant step towards strengthening accountability and transparency in Nigeria’s crude oil sector, enhancing investor confidence and improving revenue management.
