Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State and Board Member of the South East Development Commission, SEDC, H.E. Edward Onoja, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the National Headquarters of Relax Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria, RTIFN, in Maitama, Abuja.

Onoja, who served as Chief of Staff to former Governor Yahaya Bello from 2016 to 2019 before becoming Deputy Governor from 2019 to 2024, was received by the Director-General of the group, Hon. Ahmed Bala, alongside other members of the National Executive Committee.

A key All Progressives Congress, APC, mobiliser in Kogi East, Onoja was widely touted to succeed Bello ahead of the 2023 governorship race but did not contest the party’s primary. He was appointed to the pioneer board of the SEDC in 2024, representing the North Central geopolitical zone.

Discussions at the meeting centred on governance, politics and strategies for consolidating public support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“As a proud disciple of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, I remain committed to ensuring the mandate is supported and sustained.” — H.E. Edward Onoja, SEDC Board Member*

Describing himself as a disciple of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Onoja reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the mandate of President Tinubu is supported and sustained across the country.

The visit underscores ongoing mobilisation efforts by political stakeholders and support groups to strengthen the implementation of the federal government’s policy agenda. Onoja, a long-time ally of former Governor Bello, remains active in national politics and is considered a strategic APC voice in the North Central region.
