Fubara Orders Hand Over to Permanent Secretaries Amidst Political Truce

By Danjuma Amodu | February 12, 2026

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has directed all Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over to Permanent Secretaries or the most senior officers in their respective Ministries.

The directive, issued on Thursday, follows a meeting between Governor Fubara, President Bola Tinubu, and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja, aimed at resolving the state’s political crisis.

The meeting, held amid heightened tension and an impeachment move against Fubara, is seen as a decisive step by President Tinubu to restore calm and promote reconciliation.

Wike expressed confidence that the crisis is nearing resolution, praising President Tinubu’s leadership in stabilizing the state. The governor’s directive is part of efforts to consolidate the truce and restore stability.
