Goni Urges Retirees to Plan for Sustainable Future

Conservator-General of the National Park Service, Dr. Ibrahim Goni, has advised retirees and future retirees to plan for their future to sustain their livelihoods. He made this call at the pull-out ceremony of Conservator of Parks, Abubakar Kaigama, in Abuja.

Goni emphasized the importance of leaving legacies and having mentees to carry on with their duties. He commended Kaigama for his outstanding services, describing him as intelligent, patient, and proactive.

Kaigama, who served as CP of the Chad Basin National Park, thanked the service for the opportunity to serve. He credited the National Park Service for teaching him patience, resilience, and collective culture. “National Park Service taught me patience, resilience, and the power of collective culture,” he said.

Goni recalled working with Kaigama on the Nigerian Parks magazine, praising his contributions. Kaigama expressed pride in serving the National Park Service, saying it has become an entity for protected area management in Nigeria.

Kaigama, who is an immediate past CP of the Chad Basin National Park, commended the service for the opportunity given to him to serve in various departments.

“National Park Service taught me patience, resilience, and the power of collective culture. The National Park Service has become an entity to the conduct of the staff of protected area management in Nigeria,” Kaigama said.

He expressed pride in serving the National Park Service, saying it has been a privilege to serve in various capacities. Goni praised Kaigama’s outstanding services, citing his work at Gashaka Gumti National Park as notable.

The ceremony marked Kaigama’s transition, with Goni urging him to enjoy his well-deserved rest while leaving a lasting legacy.
