Kogi Youths Issue Political Ultimatum: Demand APC State Chairmanship for Hon. Muhammed Alfa Agbodu

By Edison Atumeyi Edime | January 17, 2026

Lokoja – The Kogi Youth Advocate and Liberation Movement has issued a militant political declaration to Governor Alhaji Usman Ododo and the APC National Secretariat, demanding that the party’s State Chairmanship be granted to Hon. Muhammed Alfa Agbodu, former APC Zonal Chairman for Kogi East.

The movement described the demand as a “strategic ultimatum from the grassroots,” warning that denying Kogi East its rightful stake in party leadership would constitute a “direct assault on the sensibilities of the APC base” and could trigger internal fragmentation ahead of future elections.

Positioning Agbodu as a “field marshal of grassroots mobilisation” and “custodian of party discipline,” the group emphasised that his leadership has stabilised the APC in Kogi East since 2023, neutralising factional tensions and strengthening electoral machinery. They argued that equity, federal character, and strategic power-sharing require Kogi East to be rewarded with the chairmanship.

“This is a defining crossroads,” the statement read. “The APC must choose between strategic consolidation and self-inflicted fragmentation. Power is never gifted; it is negotiated, earned, and defended.”

The youths warned that ignoring their call would have political consequences, declaring their structures mobilised and ready to act.
