Nigeria Police Force and US INL Review Strategic Partnership to Boost Security

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, met with officials from the US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) to review ongoing cooperation and explore ways to strengthen institutional engagement in policing and internal security development.

The meeting, held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, included Deputy Assistant Secretary of INL, Ms Maggie Nardi, and her delegation, and discussed expanded specialised training programmes and the provision of modern operational equipment to support the Nigeria Police Force. This strategic partnership was disclosed in a press release signed by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.

Ms. Nardi reaffirmed INL’s commitment to supporting the force, emphasising sustained collaboration to build capacity and enhance operational effectiveness. IGP Egbetokun appreciated INL’s support, highlighting the positive impact of training initiatives on the Special Intervention Squad’s performance.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to strengthening cooperation with INL and other international partners to improve service delivery and ensure a safer Nigeria.

The Nigeria Police Force and INL have been collaborating on various initiatives to enhance policing and internal security in Nigeria.
