NNPC Chief to Lead Energy Security Talks at NIES 2026

The Chief Executive of NNPC Limited, Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, is set to headline a high-level fireside chat on Nigeria’s energy future at the 9th Edition of the Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) 2026, taking place against the backdrop of global energy market volatility and intensifying energy transition expectations.

The session, entitled “Securing Nigeria’s Energy Future,” will focus on the country’s strategic commitment to energy security, market reform, and attracting long-term global capital. Since its inception, NNPC has played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s energy sector, driving growth and development through its exploration, production, and refining activities.

The 9th edition of NIES, themed “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future,” is scheduled to take place from February 2-5, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria. The event will bring together industry leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss Nigeria’s evolving energy strategy.

Key discussion points are expected to include Nigeria’s production environment, refining and supply systems, gas supply programme, and NNPC’s transformation agenda. The session will also examine the company’s progress in strengthening governance, capital discipline, and value delivery.

Chief Executive of Brevity Anderson, James Shindi, emphasised that the event’s focus on positioning Nigeria as a credible energy market, aligned with global best practices and long-term national development goals.

The summit’s Conference Producer, Kunle Odusola-Steveson, highlighted the importance of NNPC’s leadership in driving confidence and partnerships in Africa’s energy sector.
