Kogi Youths Commissioner leads massive grassroots tour as APC Kogi East candidate holds thank-you homecoming

Olamaboro Local Government Area came alive at the weekend as the Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe, mobilised 10 Hiace buses in the convoy of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Kogi East, Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, during his thank-you and homecoming tour.
According to Hon. Promise Emmanuel (Kogi Rebel), the tour, to appreciate indigenes of Kogi East who supported his emergence as the APC candidate for the 2027 elections, started from Itobe to Idah, headquarters of Igala land, to receive the blessings of His Royal Majesty, the Ata Igala, before proceeding to Anyigba and Ankpa, and climaxing at his country home, Etutekpe, in Olamaboro.
In the candidate’s convoy was Governor Usman Ododo, represented by his deputy, Elder Joel Salifu, as well as the Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, who is also the APC candidate for Ankpa Federal Constituency. Also on the entourage were Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna, Dekina/Bassa, and Hon. Victor Uchoala, Idah Federal Constituency.
Speaking during the tour, Anyebe harped on unity in Olamaboro, saying it had galvanised the people for the task ahead. He promised the readiness of the LGA to deliver all APC candidates in the coming elections — from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Senate, House of Representatives, State Assembly and the local government council polls.
In continuation of his grassroots mobilisation, the commissioner hosted the leadership of the HAMA Support Group, comprising 400 representatives from the 174 polling units and 10 wards of Olamaboro, to a strategic meeting. He charged them to intensify mobilisation to deliver all party candidates, describing the group as a vehicle designed to also deliver Governor Ododo’s mandate in the 2027 governorship election.
In his country home, Igah, a large crowd of community groups, women and youths gathered to show solidarity.
At Ugbamaka-Igah, Anyebe visited the community and donated streetlights on behalf of Governor Ododo and also facilitated the revitalisation of the community borehole following a request by residents.
Hon. Emmanuel noted that residents of Ichabo and Ugbohbo polling units erupted in jubilation as the intervention reached them.
He added that no fewer than 15 groups, including artisans and Okada unions, also visited the commissioner to pledge support for his leadership and the administration of Governor Ododo.
At Ogugu, he led the APC chairmanship candidate for the October local government polls, Hon. Achor Emmanuel, to a mini youth parley at the market square. Anyebe, who introduced Emmanuel as a son of Ogugu, canvassed support for him and promised to work with stakeholders to build a Youth House for Ogugu youths, a gesture he said he had replicated in Igah.
The weekend activities climaxed when Anyebe, who doubles as the political leader of Olamaboro, led political appointees and other stakeholders to the home of Dr. Erico to reassure him of the support of the government and the political machinery of Olamaboro in delivering his candidature in February 2027.
