Tinubu Appoints Obahiagbon As NDPHC Executive Director In Major Shake-Up

By Danjuma Amodu

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former lawmaker Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, NDPHC, as part of a fresh round of changes at key federal agencies.

The appointment was announced Friday night in a State House statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned to pursue elective office in his home state. A former member of both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly, Obahiagbon is expected to drive the NDPHC’s commercial and strategic direction at a critical time for the country’s power sector.

In the same announcement, President Tinubu reappointed Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services of the NDPHC. Umeoji, who previously represented Aguata Federal Constituency in the 9th House of Representatives, resigned to pursue political ambitions in Anambra State before returning to the agency.

The President also named Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the new Director General of the Border Communities Development Agency, BCDA. Namdas takes over from Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who stepped down to contest an election in his state.

A former federal lawmaker representing Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo in Adamawa State and spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives, Namdas brings experience in journalism and public relations to the BCDA. He previously served as Chief Press Secretary to ex-Governor Boni Haruna of Adamawa State and was an aspirant in the state’s recent governorship primary.

Onanuga said all the appointments take effect immediately, filling vacancies created by officials who resigned to seek elective positions.
