The family of Mr. and Mrs. Shafii Ndanusa has celebrated the Qur’anic graduation of their daughter, Miss Fatima Shafii Ndanusa, describing the achievement as a milestone that reflects commitment, discipline, and dedication to knowledge.

Fatima, an 11-year-old Year One student of Nigerian Turkish Cambridge School, Abuja, was among the graduates at the Abuja Madarasa 8th Qur’anic Graduation Ceremony held in the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking with journalists at the event, Fatima’s father, Mr. Shafii Ndanusa, a Chartered Accountant with the Nigerian Communications Commission, described Qur’anic graduation as a memorable experience that provides children with moral guidance and lifelong values.

He said the knowledge, discipline, and principles acquired through Qur’anic education remain valuable throughout a person’s lifetime.

Mr. Ndanusa, who recalled his own Qur’anic graduation experience in 1984, said the memory remains fresh because of the significance attached to the occasion.

He noted that although the journey requires commitment and sacrifice, the benefits extend beyond the period of learning.

According to him, Islamic education helps children understand responsibility, good conduct, and values that contribute positively to society.

The proud father thanked Almighty Allah for the opportunity and commended parents who continue to invest in the moral and spiritual upbringing of their children.

He also encouraged families to remain actively involved in guiding children, particularly in the present digital age where young people are exposed to various forms of information and distractions.

Mr. Ndanusa stressed the need for parents to monitor what their children consume online, protect them from harmful content, and encourage productive use of technology.

He advised parents to maintain constant communication with their children, understand their experiences, and provide the guidance needed for responsible decision-making.

The mother of the graduate, Mrs. Amina Shafii Ndanusa, expressed joy over her daughter’s achievement, describing it as the outcome of eight years of commitment, perseverance, and sacrifice.

She explained that combining conventional education with Qur’anic studies was challenging, but Fatima remained consistent throughout the period.

Mrs. Ndanusa said her daughter attended regular school during the week and continued Qur’anic classes on weekends, noting that the discipline demonstrated throughout the journey contributed to the success recorded.

She encouraged Muslim parents to expose their children to both Western and Islamic education, stressing that religious knowledge remains important in shaping character and values.

One of the grandmothers, Hajia Hadiza Abdullahi, congratulated Fatima on the achievement and urged other young Muslims to pursue knowledge with dedication.

Another maternal grandmother, Hajia Aisha Natsu, prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and success for the graduate, while encouraging parents to support their children’s educational journey.

In her remarks, the young Qur’anic graduate, Fatima Shafii Ndanusa, appreciated her parents for their sacrifices, encouragement, and support throughout her Qur’anic studies.

She said the knowledge gained would guide her in contributing positively to society and upholding moral values.

The ceremony featured Qur’anic recitation and an Islamic quiz competition, and was attended by family members, friends, and well-wishers who joined in celebrating the young graduate.
