Tinubu Extends Tenure of Three Permanent Secretaries

By Danjuma Amodu | March 7, 2026

President Bola Tinubu has renewed the tenure of three permanent secretaries in the federal civil service for another four years. The affected officials are Kachallom Shangti Daju (Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare), Beatrice Jedy-Agba (Solicitor-General of the Federation, Federal Ministry of Justice), and Mary Ada Ogbe (Ministry of Regional Development).

According to Eno Olotu, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the renewal takes effect from April 26, 2026, marking their second and final four-year term.

“The renewal is in line with Public Service Rule (PSR) 020909, permitting an initial four-year term with eligibility for a further term of four years, subject to satisfactory performance,” Olotu said.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, urged the reappointed officials to leverage their experience for excellence in service delivery.

They were among those sworn in as permanent secretaries by late President Muhammadu Buhari in April 2022.
