The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Mr. Sani Musa Daura, the outgoing Director of Protocol, as his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters.

The appointment was announced on Wednesday by Lere Olayinka, the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media. It will take effect from January 24, 2026, the date of Daura’s retirement from the civil service after more than 30 years of dedicated service in the FCTA’s Protocol Department.

Daura joined the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s Protocol Department in the early 1990s. Over three decades, he steadily rose through the ranks, earning a reputation for meticulous attention to detail and mastery of diplomatic etiquette.

He coordinated countless high-level visits, state functions, and international conferences, showcasing his ability to manage complex logistics with ease.

In 2019, he was appointed Director of FCT Protocol, a role he held until his scheduled retirement. His deep institutional knowledge and extensive network across government and diplomatic circles are expected to bring added value to the Minister’s office.

The Minister expressed confidence that Daura’s wealth of experience will ensure seamless protocol operations and uphold the highest standards of hospitality for dignitaries visiting the FCT.
