The Youth Electoral Guards Observer (YEGO) Initiative has officially been launched by the National Stakeholders Steering Committee, led by Chairman, Hon. Blessing Oyefeso, with the participation of institutional partners, CSOs, youth organizations, security agencies, the media, and other stakeholders.
YEGO is committed to early warning, rapid response, and credible electoral observation to promote peaceful participation and electoral integrity ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The application portal is now open for the first 50,000 Master Trainers.
According to the organizers, the initiative seeks to mobilize Nigerian youth for non-partisan election observation, early detection of electoral threats, and promotion of peaceful participation across the country.
“Join the movement. Protect the vote. Secure our democracy,” the group said in a statement announcing the launch.
The group said YEGO is anchored on the principle of youth participation beyond political competition, with a focus on safeguarding electoral integrity.
