2027: Kogi East Power Belongs to the People, Not Faceless Elders – The Catalyst Movement

The Catalyst Movement has declared that political power in Kogi East Senatorial District for the 2027 elections belongs to the people and not to any faceless group of elders.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the group strongly rejected what it described as attempts by a few individuals operating under the name Kogi East PDP Elders Forum to impose candidates and determine the political future of the district behind closed doors.

The movement emphasised that the senatorial district belongs to ordinary people — including farmers, traders, youths, women, and workers — whose voices, votes, and collective will should shape the direction of governance.

According to the statement signed by its Director, Israel Evra A., democracy thrives on participation, not imposition. The group warned that no faceless elders’ forum or small clique has the right to decide the fate of millions without the consent of the people.

The Catalyst Movement stressed that the future of Kogi East must be anchored on competence, fairness, and genuine representation. It added that if God has chosen Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to deliver competent and people-oriented governance to the district, then it is a long-awaited answered prayer.

The group called on the people of Kogi East to stand united and speak with one voice in 2027, insisting that power resides with the people and not with any selected few who believe they can unilaterally determine the district’s political destiny.
