NIES 2026: NNPC Leads Energy Dialogue as Nigeria Hosts Global Energy Leaders

The Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) 2026 is set to take off on February 2nd – 5th, 2026, with NNPC Limited as its national sponsor.

The event, happening at the Aso Villa Banquet Hall, State House and Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, will bring together energy stakeholders to discuss key issues in the sector.

The NIES 2026 is themed “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future” and will feature prominent speakers, including H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, H.E. Adama Barrow, and H.E. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

NNPC’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, will deliver the National Sponsor Address at the Official Opening Ceremony on February 3 at 9:30 AM WAT at the Aso Villa Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja.

Blossom Ozurumba, Deputy Manager, Digital Engagement, will moderate a session titled, “From Energy Poverty to Energy Prosperity: Closing the Access Gap” on February 2 at 2:30 PM WAT.

She is a seasoned digital media professional with over 17 years of experience in the energy sector. Blossom has driven digital transformation initiatives and developed compelling content on energy resources at NNPC Limited. Her expertise in strategic communications, innovation management, and data-driven insights has positioned her as a catalyst for digital media engagement.

Blossom’s experience as a Technical Assistant on New Media to former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, where she championed and produced the Minister’s Podcast Series, has honed her skills in policy development, stakeholder engagement and industry insights. This background will undoubtedly enrich her moderation of the session.

The event promises high-level engagement with ministers, regulators, and industry CEOs driving Africa’s energy agenda. Expect strategic insights on emerging trends, policies, and investment opportunities, as well as global connectivity with international energy leaders and cross-border partnerships.

The summit in it 9th year also offers stakeholders an innovation showcase featuring cutting-edge services, technologies and solutions transforming the energy sector.

NNPC has unveiled its Gas Master Plan 2026, aiming to increase national gas production to 10 billion cubic feet per day by 2027 and 12 billion cubic feet per day by 2030, attracting over $60 billion in new investments.

The  NNPC as a national sponsor and NLNG as a platinum sponsor underscore their commitment to fostering dialogue on energy’s pivotal role in national development.
