The Comptroller-General of Immigration, KN Nandap, has received a delegation from the National Hydrography Agency, led by Rear Admiral Ayo Olugbode, to discuss ways to enhance strategic partnership between the two agencies. The visit aimed to deepen cooperation in border security, particularly along Nigeria’s waterways and maritime domain.
Discussions focused on the critical role of hydrographic services in supporting effective border governance and migration management. The Hydrographer of the Federation reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to partnering with the Immigration Service through enhanced navigation support, technical collaboration, and hydrographic surveys.
The Comptroller-General emphasized the importance of inter-agency synergy in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders, noting that strengthened cooperation is vital to combating irregular migration and transnational crimes. She promised to explore ways to establish a working relationship with the National Hydrography Agency to harness benefits for both agencies.
This development comes as the Nigeria Immigration Service launches a Mobile Teams Project to strengthen border security and migration management across the country, supported by the Government of the Netherlands and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
