New Minister of State for Finance Unveils Priorities to Strengthen Revenue, Promote Fiscal Discipline

The newly sworn-in Minister of State for Finance, Taiwo Oyedele, has outlined his key priorities in office, focusing on strengthening government revenue, promoting fiscal discipline, and ensuring public funds translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Nigerians.

In a statementon his Facebook timeline, Oyedele emphasized his commitment to addressing the country’s fiscal challenges while working to unlock opportunities that can support economic growth and national development.

Oyedele’s priorities include supporting efforts to strengthen revenue mobilisation, promote fiscal discipline, and ensure public resources translate into real improvements in the lives of Nigerians.

The Minister emphasized the importance of effective management of public finance in building a strong and stable economy, with government policies focused on ensuring available resources are used efficiently to improve citizen well-being.

Oyedele pledged to work closely with Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and other stakeholders to advance the country’s development agenda, stressing the need for collaboration across institutions. He emphasized the importance of strong values in public service, citing integrity, humility, and dedication as essential qualities for success.
