APC Backs Hon. Audi for Bwari Area Council Chairman

By Henry Oseremen Ihimekpen | January 24, 2026

Bwari Area Council, located in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, is gearing up for the 2026 elections. Hon. Haruna Shekwolo Audi, the APC candidate, has been garnering support from various groups, including the Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande.

The Appeal Court has affirmed Hon. Haruna Shekwolo Audi as the APC candidate for the Bwari Area Council chairmanship election, following a disputed primary election. He has received backing from youth groups, community leaders, and party stakeholders, who praise his vision for Bwari’s development and youth empowerment.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the election for February 21, 2026, with 11 chairmanship candidates vying for the position.

The APC Directorate of Contact and Mobilization, led by Comrade Yusuf Ogwu, has thrown its weight behind Hon. Audi, highlighting his vision for Bwari, focusing on security, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic growth. His leadership style, marked by consultation, discipline, accountability, and service, is seen as key to Bwari’s sustainable development.

Comrade Ogwu assured the party’s readiness to mobilise support ward-to-ward and polling unit-to-polling unit for APC victory under Hon. Audi’s leadership, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Edison Atumeyi Edime, a political activist and youth advocate, described Hon. Audi as the right man for the job, citing his integrity, competence, and courage. “Bwari deserves a chairman who leads with these values, and Hon. Audi fits this mandate perfectly,” he said.

The APC message is clear: Bwari must move forward, choose competence over experiment, and elect Hon. Haruna Shekwolo Audi. With unity, discipline, and strategic mobilisation, victory is assured.
