By Danjuma Amodu | February 24, 2026

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has inaugurated the Governing Council of The Progressive Institute, marking a significant milestone in the party’s efforts to strengthen its intellectual and policy framework.

The inauguration, which took place at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, was attended by members of the National Working Committee of the party. The Progressive Institute, unveiled in September 2024, is designed to serve as the party’s think tank and policy resource centre.

The Institute, established on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aims to drive policy research and publications, organise national and international conferences and trainings, build leadership and institutional capacity within the party, and strengthen ideology, governance, and democratic culture.

In his remarks, the Chairman assured Nigerians that the party’s leadership is committed to supporting the Institute to grow into a world-class political and policy institution. He congratulated the members of the Governing Council on their appointment and commended their dedication to the progressive cause.

The Institute is expected to serve as the institutional memory of the APC and contribute to the development of Nigeria’s political system. Its establishment reflects the party’s commitment to transparency, institutional integrity, and the rule of law.

The Chairman expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his visionary leadership and to his predecessor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for laying a strong foundation for the Institute.
