By Edison Atumeyi Edime | January 17, 2026

Following the historic flag-off of the 2026 Cashew Production and Marketing Season in Lokoja, Hon. Ayuba Edino has formally commended and recommended the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his bold, visionary, and people-centered leadership in repositioning agriculture as a strategic pillar of Kogi State’s economic renaissance.

Hon. Ayuba described the cashew flag-off as a watershed moment, noting that Governor Ododo’s decisive actions, ranging from the unveiling of the Kogi State Cashew Procurement and Trade Policy 2025 to the free distribution of hybrid cashew seedlings, represent a clear departure from rhetoric to results-driven governance.

He emphasised that the Governor’s sustained support has revitalised cashew production and marketing in Kogi East, empowering farmers, attracting investment, and securing livelihoods across the value chain.

Hon. Ayuba further expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Dekina Local Government, Hon. John Urah, for his unwavering grassroots mobilisation and institutional support that ensured the success of the flag-off in the state capital.

According to him, the synergy between state and local leadership underscores the APC-led administration’s commitment to inclusive development.

He concluded by reaffirming confidence in Governor Ododo’s agricultural transformation agenda, declaring that Kogi’s cashew economy has entered a new era of prosperity, protection, and global competitiveness under his stewardship.
