Kogi East Youths Rise: The End of Silent Politics and the Dawn of Grassroots Power

By Edison Atumeyi Edime

Kogi East politics is entering a new phase defined by political consciousness, grassroots resistance, and strategic realignment, as young people rise against intimidation, marginalisation, and leadership failure.

Across the district, a new generation of political activists, youth advocates, and grassroots mobilisers are demanding accountability, inclusive governance, and purposeful representation from those in authority.

“The youths of Kogi East are no longer spectators in the democratic struggle. We are now frontline stakeholders and defenders of the people’s mandate.”

The political atmosphere in Kogi East today is charged with tension, ambition, coalition building, and power negotiations. Different political blocs are struggling for dominance ahead of future electoral battles.

From ward-level structures to major strongholds, the people are becoming more politically awakened. They are determined to protect their mandate against forces of oppression and narrow political interests.

As political activists and youth advocates, we can no longer remain silent while the future of our people is negotiated behind closed doors by political merchants who show little concern for the masses.

The era in which a few political cabals monopolised power without accountability is collapsing under the weight of rising political consciousness and grassroots resistance.

The streets are speaking. The villages are mobilising. The youths are organising. A political revolution of ideas, unity, and strategic engagement is unfolding across Kogi East with unstoppable momentum.

This is not a call for violence. It is a call for political courage, democratic resistance, strategic mobilisation, and active participation in the political process.

“The era of political domination without development is over. The people are demanding leadership with vision, accountability, transparency, and grassroots connection.”

The struggle before us is a battle for the soul of Kogi East — a fight to reclaim the dignity, opportunities, and political future of our people from failed leadership and recycled propaganda.

The youths must remain united, vigilant, and politically disciplined. We must build strong grassroots structures, strengthen political alliances, defend our democratic rights, and support leaders who genuinely understand the pains and aspirations of the common people.

The future of Kogi East cannot be secured through political silence or blind loyalty, but through collective action, strategic thinking, and fearless advocacy.

The political drums are already sounding. A new generation of politically conscious youths is emerging with a clear message: development must follow power.

Indeed, the struggle continues, the movement is growing, and the political liberation of Kogi East remains a mission that every progressive-minded youth must defend with courage, loyalty, and unwavering determination.
