Bwari’s Political Arena Ignites as Comrade Yusufu Ogwu Launches Full‑Scale Mobilisation for APC’s Audi Haruna Shekwolo

By Edison Atumeyi, January  23,2026

A thunderous rallying ovation has erupted across Bwari as Comrade Yusufu Ogwu, a frontline operative of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Contact and Mobilisation Directorate, stormed the local political arena with a promise of “total mobilisation” for party flag‑bearer Hon. Audi Haruna
Shekwolo ahead of the 21 February 2026 local government election.

Ogwu’s entry signals the activation of a disciplined, command-driven grassroots operation designed to dominate every ward, secure each polling unit, and turn political momentum into tangible votes.

He saluted the APC leadership, especially Party Chairman Alhaji Aliyu Tanko
Shere, for maintaining confidence in grassroots structures and pledged unwavering loyalty to Shekwolo’s “victory agenda.”

“Elections are not won by noise or online theatrics but by structure, presence, turnout and control,” Ogwu declared, warning that past electoral lapses, failures of organisation and polling‑unit dominance will not be repeated. He further reiterated that power is “negotiated, captured and defended at the polling units through planning, discipline and relentless voter engagement.”

To translate that vision into reality, Ogwu announced the immediate deployment of a ward‑by‑ward, polling‑unit‑anchored mobilisation machinery. The network, according to Ogwu will comprises of ward commanders, polling‑unit captains, street coordinators, youth vanguards and volunteer foot soldiers, whose mandate includes voter mapping, narrative control, turnout activation and mandate protection for Shekwolo.

Ogwu emphasised a people-first-campaign with deep grassroots engagement targeting traders, youths, women, artisans, students, and traditional and religious leaders. Issues at the forefront are roads, security, sanitation, healthcare, education and youth economic empowerment.

“APC delivers governance, not slogans,” Ogwu asserted, framing the party’s message as a singular, uncompromising promise.

In a stern closing, he warned that “disunity is sabotage and indiscipline is betrayal,” insisting that only unity, loyalty and coordinated action behind the Shekwolo project will guarantee victory. “Mobilise. Occupy. Defend.
APC must win Bwari. No retreat. No compromise,” he concluded.

Bwari Local Government Area, a key swing region in the Federal Capital Territory, has seen a series of closely contested elections in recent years. The APC’s previous attempts to capture the council seat were hampered by fragmented grassroots structures and low voter turnout in several wards. Hon. Audi Haruna Shekwolo, a former council chairman and seasoned community organiser, emerged as the party’s flag‑bearer after a tightly fought primary in late 2025. His campaign has emphasised infrastructure renewal and youth employment, positioning him as a candidate capable of bridging the gap between traditional leadership and modern governance.

With Ogwu’s mobilisation drive now underway, political observers expect a heightened contest, as rival parties scramble to shore up their own grassroots networks ahead of the February poll.
