A House of Representatives aspirant for Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency of Kogi State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Zekeri Ameen Ozovehe, has been honoured with a patronship role by the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN.
The recognition followed his decoration as Patron of the group at the National Operations and Monitoring Headquarters of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Saburi District, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The ceremony, which was held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, attracted family members, political associates, members of the Zekeri Ameen Ozovehe Campaign Organisation, as well as prominent sons and daughters of Ebira from the FCT and neighbouring states.
Performing the decoration, the Assistant Commander General of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Denise Awosenyi, described Hon. Ozovehe as a committed supporter of community security initiatives.

He said the honour was in recognition of Ozovehe’s dedication, encouragement and contributions to the activities of the group and its objective of complementing conventional security agencies in protecting lives and property.

Responding, Hon. Zekeri Ameen Ozovehe expressed appreciation for the recognition, describing it as a call to greater responsibility and renewed commitment to supporting efforts aimed at improving security at the grassroots.

He commended members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria for their patriotism, sacrifice and commitment to community safety, noting that their contributions remain vital in strengthening security across the country.
Hon. Ozovehe, however, appealed to the Federal Government to provide the group with adequate security equipment, logistics support and improved welfare packages to enable members to carry out their duties more effectively.
He assured that the recognition would further motivate him to continue identifying with initiatives that promote peace, safety and development.
