Hon. Abdulmalik Gabaidu, former Labour Party flag bearer for the Olamaboro State House of Assembly, has joined the APC, pledging to mobilise his grassroots network for the ruling party’s success.
A former Labour Party flag bearer for the Olamaboro State House of Assembly election, Hon. Abdulmalik Gabaidu, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress, pledging his total commitment to the growth and electoral success of the ruling party in Olamaboro Local Government Area.
Hon. Gabaidu was formally received into the APC at his ward during a ceremony attended by party leaders, members, supporters, and stakeholders.

Speaking shortly after his reception at Imane Ward 1, Ojidokoile Polling Unit 009, the former Labour Party candidate described his defection as a carefully considered decision reached after extensive consultations with political leaders, associates, supporters, and key stakeholders across Olamaboro.

“Today marks a significant milestone in my political journey as I was officially received into the All Progressives Congress in my ward,” he stated.

According to him, the APC remains the most viable platform for advancing the aspirations and development needs of the people of Olamaboro.
Hon. Gabaidu expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, and to the leadership and members of the APC for the warm reception accorded to him and his supporters, noting that the gesture further strengthened his confidence in the party’s unity and inclusiveness.
“I am deeply grateful for the warm reception given to me and my supporters. This gesture reinforces my confidence that together we can build a stronger and more united political family,” he added.

The former assembly flag bearer also assured the party of his readiness to deploy his political experience, grassroots structures, and extensive network to strengthen the APC ahead of future elections.
“I pledge to deploy my political reach and grassroots structures towards strengthening the APC and ensuring its victory in future elections,” he affirmed.
Calling for unity and collective action among party members, Mr Gabaidu urged his supporters and advocates of good governance to join hands with the APC in promoting development across the area.
“The task before us is to unite, mobilise, and work diligently for the progress of our communities and the success of our great party. Together, we shall build a stronger APC and a brighter future for our people,” he declared.

His defection is expected to boost the APC’s grassroots support base in Olamaboro as preparations gradually begin for future political contests.
