A private organisation, OneBarrow International Limited, in collaboration with major national health associations, is set to convene a private sector-led National Health Equity Conference in Abuja.
The three-day conference, scheduled for 13th to 15th October 2026, will focus on the theme: “From Policy to Impact: Care Coordination as the Core Engine of Health Equity.”
In a statement, the organisation’s Communication Officer, Maryam Aminu, said the conference is aimed at bridging the gap between health policies and their implementation, particularly at the point of care.
She said the conference would address fragmentation in healthcare delivery, strengthen accountability within the health system and promote the use of digital feedback mechanisms to improve access to quality healthcare for underserved populations.
According to her, the meeting will bring together private sector executives, healthcare professionals, policymakers, legislators, development partners, civil society organisations, patient advocates and academic institutions.
The statement said the conference would be declared open by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, as Chief Host. The Chairman, House Committee on Health Services, Honourable Amos Gwamna Magaji, and the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, are also expected to participate.
The Chief Executive Officer of OneBarrow International Limited, Yemi Ajao, said Nigeria has strong health frameworks, but stressed the need to translate policies into coordinated action at the point of care.
Ajao said bringing healthcare associations and private sector partners together would help build a responsive and accountable health system where no citizen is left behind.
The conference is expected to produce a post-conference communiqué and an actionable roadmap for national implementation.
