Kogi Governor Ododo Calls for Unity and Mass Participation in APC’s Electronic Registration Drive

By Danjuma Amodu | January 18, 2026

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic registration exercise as “strategic, not routine,” urging party members to close ranks, embrace digital registration, and harness President Bola Tinubu’s grassroots legacy to build a stronger, data-driven APC that can deliver lasting development for Kogi and Nigeria.

Governor Ododo made the remarks at a critical stakeholders’ meeting on the APC’s new electronic registration platform, emphasising that the initiative is essential to the party’s future and to the prosperity of Kogi State. He stated that a larger, well-organised APC benefits every member, not just a single individual, and that a strong party produces strong leaders, protects its people, and sustains development.

Highlighting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s grassroots political model, Ododo noted that Tinubu’s structure transformed Lagos into a secure, market-driven hub that attracted industry. “Leadership matters. Vision matters. Structure matters,” he said, adding that the same leadership spirit now underpins the national APC and its e-registration system, which will capture accurate member data and enable evidence-based planning.

The governor warned that disunity has historically prevented Kogi from fully exploiting its natural and human resources, allowing external actors to profit from division. “No group has ever drawn strength from disunity. Unity is power, unity is progress,” he declared, urging members from Ajiolo to Ihima, Ejiba to Kotonkarfe, to view the APC as a shared platform for good governance.

He linked the registration drive to tangible benefits already reaching Kogi, citing President Tinubu’s interventions on the Ajaokuta Steel Company, numerous federal projects in the state, and resources that have funded local initiatives such as student bursaries and youth programmes. “No party has benefited Kogi more than the APC,” Ododo said, calling on every Kogite to register and thereby solidify the party’s base.

Ododo made clear that the registration exercise is not a pre-election campaign but a foundational programme to fortify the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. “If you are not actively participating in mobilising for this registration, then you are not a loyal party member,” he warned, urging members to set aside personal interests and work collectively.

Concluding his address, the governor appealed for unity and collective action: “This is not the time to watch or complain. This is the time to work. Let us build our party, our unity, our future. Together, we will make the APC bigger, make Kogi greater, and continue to serve our people.”

The meeting ended with a call for all APC stakeholders in Kogi to return to their constituencies, mobilise citizens for the digital registration, and report progress to the state party secretariat, setting the stage for a comprehensive, data-rich membership roll that will underpin the party’s strategic planning and electoral success.
